Red Lake Elementary Football Action vs. Cass Lake Thursday, Oct. 13th

A group of 25 third thru 6th grade boys headed out after school to Cass Lake High School on a sunny, chilly autumn day. The majority of the boys have been practicing for a month and only two are returners from last year. Some only had a week of practice, one only a day.

Cass Lake scored early on a sweep to the left, but were unable to score on the extra point. The score at the half was 6-0. The Panthers scored again on some nice running plays to march down the field, but again the Warriors defense stuffed the run up the middle for the extra point--12-0 Panthers.

Red Lake took the kickoff and put together a nice drive before a turnover on a pass play at the 10 yard line. The defense held them and the offense was able to get their first score on a 2 yard run up the middle. They were unable to get the extra point--12-6 Panthers.

Cass Lake came back with a nice drive that saw the Warriors D stuff two nice runs at the goalline, before giving up another touchdown, and the Panthers again were unable to get the 2 yards on the Warriors defense. The final score ended at 18-6 Cass Lake.
