Jordan Lee Sumner, 19, of Red Lake, died Sunday October 9, 2011 at his home in Red Lake.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 13, 2011 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Red Lake, MN with Fr. Jerry Rogers officiating. A wake will begin at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the Little Rock Community Center and continue until time of services on Thursday. Burial will be held at the family burial grounds in Red Lake. The Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Honorary Pallbearers will be, Henry Sumner Jr., Dustin Beaulieu, Talon Rosebear, Angel Smith, Melvin Feather III, Derek Beaulieu, Lonnie Fier, Clem May Jr., Samira Sumner, Charlie May, Maria Yanez, Devin May, Chloe May-Cook, Allene Harrison, Robert Fier, Steve May, Lee Fier, Donnie May, Donis Smith, Shanelle Harrison and all Youth Build Workers.

Pallbearers will be, Stuart Sumner, Leonard Sumner, Nick Sumner, Corey May Sr., Willy May, Keith Sumner and alternates, Robin Roy and Charles Smith Jr.

He was born on December 25, 1991 to Ramona Sumner in Minneapolis, MN. He was raised by Thelma and Bill May of Red Lake. He attended school at Red Lake Elementary School in Red Lake, Circle of Nations School in Wahpeton, ND, Flandreau Indian School in Flandreau, SD and Red Lake High School in Red Lake, later receiving his GED diploma in May of 2011. He was currently employed with Youth Build and was also presently attending Red Lake Nation College. He enjoyed riding Harley Davidson, listening to music, playing his X-box, being on his laptop, watching UFC, hanging out with family and friends. He was a very outgoing person with a great sense of humor, always making people laugh.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Ramona and Robin Roy of Red Lake; sisters, Victoria Becerra, Alicia Sumner, Leticia Sumner, Mia Sumner, Echo Roy, Nicole Roy, Angel Smith, Star (Devin) May and Laurene May all of Red Lake; brothers, Corey (Leanne) May Sr., Willy (Janelle) May, Keith (Laura) Sumner all of Red Lake, Nick (Veronica) Sumner of Duluth; special friend, Lonnie Fier of Red Lake; special nieces, T.J. and Shawna Becerra of Red Lake; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Margaret and Henry Sumner Sr .; great-grandparents, Simon and Angeline Sumner; brother, Simon Pacheco and an aunt, Karen Faye Sumner.
