Todd Raymond Roy Sr.

Todd Roy, 45, of Cass Lake, MN, died Saturday, October 1, 2011 at Lake Winnibigoshish, near Inger, MN.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the St. Charles Catholic Church in Cass Lake, MN with Father Kuriakose “K.K.” Nediakala officiating. A wake began Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN, and continued until the time of the service. Interment was at the Pine Grove cemetery in Cass Lake, MN under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

He was born on April 5, 1966, in Cass Lake, MN, the son of Marcella (Roy) Sargent and Frank Bellanger. He was raised and educated in Cass Lake, and graduated from Cass Lake High School in 1984. He participated in and enjoyed boxing, baseball, and softball. He was an accomplished construction trades worker and worked on many projects. Among the many commercial developments and educational developments he worked on were: the Seven Clans Casino in Thief River Falls, Hilton Gardens Hotel, Valley Gardens Convenience Store, Barnes and Noble Bookstore, the UMD College Dorms, and on several residential construction projects in Grand Forks, ND, the Dakota Mills Factory, Wingate Motel in Fargo, ND, 23 residential homes in Lower Brule, SD, Northern Lights Hotel, Jimmy’s Restaurant, and the Tianna Housing Development in Walker. He also worked for Red Lake Industries in Redby, Leech Lake Gaming and Leech Lake Housing Authority. He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and ricing. He was devoted to and loved spending time with his children, and grandchildren. His quiet demeanor and strength will be missed by all.

He is survived by : Mother, Marcella Sargent of Cass Lake, Sisters, Kathleen (Charlie) J. Roy of Minneapolis, MN, Andrea (Paoa) Tauaa of San Diego, CA, Sharlene R. Roy of Cass Lake, Alane (Cheech) Roy of Cass Lake, Children, Rozanna (Brandon Sr.) Roy of Cass Lake, Todd Raymond Roy Jr. of Cass Lake, Grandchildren: Lamya Humphrey, and Brandon White Jr. of Cass Lake, Aunts, Uncles, Nephews, and Nieces.

He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents Morris and Josephine (Northbird) Roy, and great-grandmother Ida (Morris) Staples.

Active Casketbearers were:, Charles D.Croaker Jr., Richard J. Croaker Sr., Vincent Keith Roy, Brandon J. White Sr., Donald J. Finn Jr., Alvin E. Roy, Todd Smith, Merle Wakonabo with alternate: Paoa L. Tauaa.

Honorary Casketbearers were all his friends and family.
