Maynard James Raisch

Maynard James Raisch, "GINEW" which means "Golden Eagle", 55, of Cass Lake, MN, passed away at the Indian Health Service Hospital in Cass Lake on Wednesday, September 28, 2011. He was born on June 22, 1956 in Minneapolis, MN to Joseph and Dolores (Fairbanks) Raisch.

Maynard was a very funny man and he could always make people laugh. He loved fishing, netting, walking around talking to everyone, and spending time with his friends. Maynard enjoyed spending time with children, especially his nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Sheldon, nephew Brian "Guy" Wilson, a great niece Vina Brown and a great grandson Exavier Duran White.

Maynard is survived by his brothers; Joseph "Sonny" Raisch of Cass Lake and Donald "Booty" Raisch of Minneapolis, MN, sisters; Linda Wilson of Cass Lake and Joanne (Frank) Ortley of Cass Lake, MN, special friend Sylvia Gale of Cass Lake, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A wake service for Maynard will begin at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 30, 2011 and continue until the 1:00 p.m. service on Sunday, October 2. All held at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Cass Lake, MN. Allen Hardy will be the spiritual leader. Pallbearers for Maynard will be Joel Ortley, Marshall Villebrun, Curtis Ortley, Nicholas Villebrun, Joe Burris, Barney Robinson, Virgil Benais,Gary "Gander" Headbird and Mike Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Maynard's friends. Interment will be held at the Morgan Cemetery on Oak Point Road, Cass Lake, MN.
