Natlie Marie Weiss, 38, whose Indian name was Anaang, which means Star, of Ponemah, MN died Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Traditional Services in the Indian custom will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, September 22, 2011 at the Ponemah Community Center with Spiritual Leader Greg Kingbird officiating. A wake will begin Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the Ponemah Community Center in Ponemah, MN and continue until the time of the funeral. Burial will be at the Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, MN. Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck assisted the family with arrangements.

She was born on May 9, 1973. She spent her life giving to others before herself. She loved being with her nieces and nephews more than anything. She raised her special nieces, Lariah Joy Weiss and Naveah Ann Weiss. She loved her life and the people in it. She always sang to the babies and had her special song for each one.

She is survived by a son, Brieghson Cole Weiss and a special friend, Oriole Kingbird Sr.; brothers, Spence (Josie) Whitefeather of Guthrie, MN, and Howard Whitefeather of Ponemah, MN; special brothers, Bobby “Shantz” Whipple of Cass Lake, MN, and John Boy Whipple of Minneapolis, MN; sister, Irene (Bill) McNeal of Red Lake, MN; mother, Rose Weiss of Ponemah; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Elmer Weiss; sister, Diane Whitefeather; and grandparents, James and Rose Whitefeather.
