Open House held at Red Lake Schools

Open House was held at all Red Lake Schools today beginning at 12 noon and ending at 7 PM. A meal was served after 4 PM.

Parents and students got to meet their teachers and fill out registration forms and learn more about the upcoming year.

Buses will start running on Wednesday, August 24, 2011.

School will start at 8:10 AM and end at 3:10 PM, but starting on September 12, schools will start later on Monday mornings at 9:40 AM. These late Monday starts are due to teacher in-service time required by the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE).

Students should not be dropped off at the schools no earlier than 7:45 AM during the week, and no earlier than 9:40 AM on Mondays after September 12, as they will not be able to get inside the building.

The air conditioning at the Red Lake Elementary School is still being worked on and some teachers have advised their students to dress in summer clothing, as it could be quite warm in some of the classrooms. These air conditioning problems, which should have been taken care of during the last three months, are being worked out and efforts are underway to resolve this.

School officially starts on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, so drive carefully, watch for children, and we hope everyone has an enjoyable and learning experience in the Red Lake School District.
