The Red Lake School District #38 is seeking candidates to fill a vacant Security Guard position.
Terms of Employment: Wages and benefits per MSEA Master Agreement
Assignment: Red Lake Middle/High School for the 2011-12 School year.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Required
Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Knowledge of District and school building policies, rules and regulations. Federal, State and Tribal law.
Position overview to include but not limited to:
To protect school district property, staff, students and general public against fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.
Screen every student, staff, visitor for weapons or other prohibited items using metal detectors and/or electronic wands
Sign visitors into and out of the building and assist them in finding their destination
Monitor security cameras as assigned
Patrol hallways as assigned
Continuously cover assigned location
Check and monitor all doors are secure as assigned and/or scheduled
Escort student(s) as necessary to detention, ISS or as applicable
Be vigilant for gang signs or activity
Work with law enforcement
Use Crisis Intervention Training to control fights or other student misbehavior
Participate in drills, taking charge and directing others, as necessary
Write reports
Use professional behavior and language
Patrol bus departures and monitor student crossing guards as assigned
