Headwaters Alliance for Suicide Prevention Meeting

The Headwaters Alliance for Suicide Prevention will be holding its next meeting on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at the Prime West Conference Room at 3124 Hannah Ave NW in Bemidji. The meeting will begin at noon; bring your

lunch.

The agenda for the meeting will include an update on the Run/Walk for Suicide Prevention in September. Registrations, posters and volunteer opportunities will be available.

Educational Opportunity: We will be viewing a film developed by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention entitled; "More than Sad: Preventing Teen Suicide". This is a 25 minute film developed to increase teachers'

knowledge and understanding of suicidal behavior in youth-its causes, treatment and prevention. The film is appropriate for use by any school personnel whose work brings them in contact with students, including school

nurses, psychologists, social workers, counselors, school resource officers and administrators. It is also appropriate for those who work with and care for adolescents outside of the school setting. All are welcome.
