Traffic Lights in Ponemah?

It's true--at least for another week or so

There have never been any traffic lights on the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Not that some intersections could use them like those busy areas in Red Lake by the High School, Tribal Council and Red Lake Foods.

That is until just last week when construction crews began working on the Battle River Bridge.

Now and until the construction is complete, the temporary traffic signals will dictate who can travel on the bridge, and who has to wait, since there is only one lane to travel on.

It is believed that the signals were set up to cut costs of construction, since usually there are sign holders or lead cars that take traffic safely from one area to another.

But it did cause people to talk a little about it, since it is something different.
