Red Lake Comprehensive Health Services sponsors Basketball Clinic - P2
Red Lake Comprehensive Health Services sponsored a basketball clinic for boys and girls that was held at the Red Lake High School. First up was the girls for the week of Aug 1-5, with the younger girls, 8-13yrs old held from 10a-12p and was followed by the older girls, 14-18 yrs, from 1p-3p. By the middle of the week the girls were showing up at 930am and staying til 330, and some of the girls attended both sessions. The girls worked hard on the drills, and each one of them showed improvement by the end of the week.
The boys had their turn the following week, and many of them also came early, attended both sessions, stayed late and all showed improvement. The fundamentals of the game were stressed from ball handling, passing, footwork and shooting, and were taught through various drills that were fun, challenging and sometimes very competitive. The clinic was led by Randy "Peach" Holthusen and assisted by Chris Jourdain, Chad Prentice and Victor Roy, Jr.
Miigwetch to Comp Health for sponsoring the event and to the parents and kids who got up early and came worked out all day in a hot, muggy gym to improve their individual skills. The Coaches look forward to the future seasons of Red Lake Basketball and adding more banners to the roof of the gym.
