Funeral services for Janice Bailey of Warroad will be held on Thursday, August 4th at 2 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Warroad. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Janice Kathleen Bailey, passed away on Sunday, July 31, at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau, MN at the age of 60.

Jan was born March 4, 1951 in Red Lake, MN to Maurice "Buddy" Bailey and Rose Bailey (Needham). She attended Red Lake school and graduated in 1969. She then went on to attend school in Duluth, MN for cooking. She has had many jobs she loved throughout the years. She worked in Forestry until she moved back to Bemidji and attended BSU. She then moved to Warroad in 1988, she worked at the American Legion, after that in 1991 she went on to work at the Casino for 12 years. She then worked for Lutheran Social services as a CAN. She really enjoyed the residents she was assigned to care for. In 2005, she then moved back to Red Lake where she worked at the Red Lake casino for a short time, before she went on to work at the Red Lake Hospital. That was another job she enjoyed, she always said that she was getting paid to visit. She also worked at the Fisheries for 2 years or so. She later moved back to Warroad in Dec 2010.

She really loved her Grandson, Ethan and spending time with him, visiting with friends, baking, reading, watching TV (Law and Order, CSI, and Becker). She liked to go for rides on a nice day, liked to joking around, she was a very funny lady and she made a lot of people laugh. She loved her freebies she would always say "where there's a freebie there's Jan". She loved her children very much, she always made sure they had what they needed. She would always take people in if they needed a place to stay or help out whoever she could. She was always giving food away to those in need. She was a very caring lady who will be missed.

She is survived by her two children, Nicole (Bryan) Bailey of Warroad and Timothy Bahr also of Warroad; one grandson, Ethan Bailey of Warroad; 3 sisters, Donna (Tom) Kadel Of Coon Rapids, Brenda Bailey Of Minneapolis and Beverly Bailey of Bemidji; and brother, Lyle (Tracy) Bailey of Thief River Falls, MN. She is preceded in death by, her parents; grandparents; 2 sisters, Laura and Barbara; one nephew, Scott; several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Active Casket Bearers: Timothy Bahr Sr, Lyle Bailey, Gerald Shaugabay, Brian Olson, Randy Klicker, and Raymond Strong. Alternates: Bryan and Billy Shaugabay. Honorary Pallbearers: All her Friends and Family.
