Charles "Skunky" Barrett

Charles Loren "Skunky" Barrett, 70, of Red Lake, MN, died Thursday, July 28, 2011 at his home.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 2:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake, MN with the Rev. Jerry Rogers officiating. A wake will begin on Tuesday, August 2 at noon at the Littlerock Community Center and will continue until the funeral. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Red Lake under the direction of Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck.

Active Casket bearers will be Carl Fairbanks, Sr., Joe Thunder, Douglas "Oscar" King, Herman Donnell, Orlyn Donnell, Mike Cobenais, Clem May., Sr., Clem May, Jr., Charles Gerald May, Pete English, Tyrone Barrett, Darren King

and Norman Kingbird.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Selena King, Amanda Kingbird, Miranda Kingbird, Ashley Erin May, Amber Jane May, Donna Howard, Diane Howard, Jean Donnell, Herman and Marion Lussier, Joe Barrett, Johnny Boy Barrett, Henry "Hank" Sayers, Sr. and Steve Beaulieu.

He was born on July 7, 1941 in Red Lake, MN to Josephine Greeley and Peter English. He was raised and educated in Red Lake. He attended St. Mary's Mission School and he received his G.E.D. He was employed at the Red Lake

Fisheries where he worked for over 40 years, retiring in 2010. He married Sharon Donnell on Aug. 10, 1991. He started working for the Seven Clans Casino as a shuttle driver in October 2010 until the time of his death.

He enjoyed visiting his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren on a daily basis. He enjoyed going to various casinos and loved to play golf, attending many tournaments. He also loved hunting, fishing and loved to be

busy doing many activities.

He is survived by his children, Beverly, Anita and Michael Kingbird, all of Red Lake, MN; sisters, Judy Barrett, Barbara Fairbanks, Lois Manypenny and a brother, Joe Fairbanks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Sharon Barrett; a son, Charles, Jr.; a daughter, Natalie; sisters, Lucille Rainey, Mary Mead and Rose Porter; a brother, Myron Barrett and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
