TITLE: Art Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Program Director

WORK SCHEDULE Part-time Permanent, 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday, with some weekends

PROFILE: Youth Development Professional

POSITION SUMMARY: The Art Coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, supervising, and evaluating activities provided in The Arts Core Program area.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of youth development outcomes in accordance with BGCA commitment to quality

• Promote and stimulate program participation

• Provide guidance and role modeling to members

• Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities

• Ensure safety of members and provide clean environment (daily cleaning/organizing)

• Prepare periodic activity reports (monthly calendar)

• Monitor the academic progress of Club members through report card review

• Train and supervise volunteers as needed relative to The Arts

• Implement extracurricular activities for members

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be comfortable performing multi-faceted duties in conjunction with day-to-day activities

• May assist with public relations, special programs and events as needed

• Other Duties as assigned

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in education/arts preferred

• Valid Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance

• Minimum of one year experience working with youth ages 6-18 in education, recreation and/or social services setting preferred

• Excellent communication skills both oral and written

• CPR and first aid certificates required within 6 months of employment

• Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment

• Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems

• Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth

• Ability to communicate effectively with others

• Excellent attendance and punctuality
