Red Lake Pharmacy Community Safety Initiative

The Red Lake Pharmacy is committed to helping protect your identity as well as the reducing prescription drug abuse in our community. Controlled substances are drugs that have a potential for abuse or misuse. These drugs if used incorrectly can cause major health problems for our patients.

Effective October 13, 2009, the Red Lake Service Unit instituted a requirement for patient's to present a photo ID when picking-up controlled substance prescriptions. This ID requirement was put into place to help protect your identity and to make sure that the controlled substance went to your authorized proxy person. As you know, lost or stolen prescriptions are not replaced. This is why this process is so important. We additionally require proxy pick-ups to be named in advance in writing through the pharmacy.

Effective August 1, 2011, we will be requiring 100% ID checks for ALL controlled substance prescriptions for EACH patient on EVERY visit. Another member of the pharmacy or medical staff will no longer be able to vouch for you. We appreciate your cooperation with this community safety initiative. If you have questions or concerns, please let a member of the pharmacy know.
