The New Beginnings Ponemah Office will move to the Ponemah Center once the Boys and Girls Club moves to their new facility.
There were close to 100 people who came to the Open House, which featured submarine sandwiches and all the trimmings from Subway in Bemidji.
Ponemah, MN - The distance from Ponemah to the New Beginnings Program Building in Redby is well over 30 miles--even further if one doesn't live in the main town area. And if one is unemployed or doesn't have reliable transportation, that can be a problem.
New Beginnings has over 200 clients they serve in the Ponemah area, so to better meet their needs, they decided to set up an office there so they wouldn't have to travel so far for services. Although the office will be situated temporarily in the Ponemah Sub Station, once the Boys and Girls Club moves into their new building, the New Beginnings Ponemah Office will be located in the Ponemah Center, where they will do some remodeling to meet their needs. The office will be fully staffed and open during normal business hours.
The Red Lake New Beginnings Program provides services such as professional skill development, technical and employment skills development, classes through New Beginnings, Job Club, OJT, apprenticeship, work experience, life skills, and other opportunities that will assist the consumer to prepare for employment, including, job placement, case management, basic education, post employment services and social services. On Tuesday, July 26, 2011 the New Beginnings Program held an Open House to make the announcement to the Ponemah community.
