Mazopiya Will Host Grand Opening Celebration on Friday, August 5th

Prior Lake, MN – Mazopiya, a natural food market located in Prior Lake will hold an all day Grand Opening Celebration on Friday, August 5, 2011. Open to the general public, the event’s theme is “Welcome to Healthy Living, Welcome to Mazopiya.” The event will feature samples from departments around the store, cooking demonstrations, giveaways, and prize drawings. Trey from KS95’s Morning Show will be onsite from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. adding to the festivities with music, giveaways, and contests. This is a great opportunity to try a wide variety of new foods and to learn about Mazopiya and its commitment to clean, organic products. The friendly and knowledgeable staff will be on hand to guide guests through the store and answer questions.

A special edition of the SMSC Farmer’s Market will be held outside Mazopiya in conjunction with the Grand Opening. It will feature fresh, organic produce from the SMSC’s organic garden, Mdewakanton Wozupi, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A wide array of vegetables will be available. The Farmer’s Market is held in front of Mazopiya every Thursday June through October.

Specials on organic produce and grocery items will include Buy One Get One Free strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries as well as discounts on cantaloupe and red and green grapes. There will be a 25% discount on all Mazopiya brand vitamins and supplements. There will also be specials and significant discounts on a variety of grocery items such as ground buffalo meat, bread, pizza, yogurt, and ice cream.

During the Grand Opening customers will be invited to learn to make guacamole, fried tomatoes, and local slaw. In addition, Keep it Simple cooking demonstrations are scheduled for morning and afternoon.
