Improving Your Oil Painting Workshop..."See-ology 101"

Blank Canvas Gallery and Education Center in Park Rapids, a Minnesota nonprofit art organization, is offering a workshop to learn about oil painting techniques and knowing how and what to paint when you put your brush and palette knife to the canvas. This three day class is being taught by noted artist and teacher, Sheila Rieman on July 27th, 28th & 29th. Class time each day will be 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Toad Mountain Ranch, 42273 Stae Hwy 34, Osage, MN.

Rieman has long time experience in fine art painting and is always willing to share her knowledge with others who want to learn about art and oil painting.

In this exploratory workshop - the participant will:

a) Learn to override the brain in terms of what is seen.

b) The use of a palette knife for oil painting.

c) Seeing colors and shapes accurately and placing them on the canvas.

d) Learn about color spotters - characteristics of light and it's effect on colors.

e) Learn about local and environmental color and creative use of color in the painting.

Class size is limited - Registration deadline is July 17th.
