Jeanine Gangeness, associate professor of nursing at Bemidji State University, shows Paetra Grandbois how to help a newborn breathe Thursday afternoon. Eight students from surrounding American Indian reservations interested in a medical field attended a weeklong INMED (Indians into Medicine) program that included the nursing program at BSU. The students also toured technical colleges, Sanford Bemidji Medical Center and Wells Technology and learned about native foods and plants for their healing properties.
