Cass Lake, Bemidji residents involved in area accident

At least one person was injured Sunday west of Cass Lake when a 2000 Ford Taurus went off the roadway along U.S. Highway 2.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol:

Robert S. Fairbanks, 34, of Cass Lake, was driving the vehicle when it went off the roadway along the westbound side, crossed back over the highway and then came to rest.

The accident was reported at 5:47 p.m. three miles west of Cass Lake in Hubbard County.

A passenger in the vehicle, 31-year-old Jaime J. Hanson of Bemidji suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken to Innovis Health in Fargo, N.D.

Fairbanks’ condition was listed as not documented. He was taken to Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.

The vehicle sustained severe damage.
