Citizen Survey

Beltrami County Board of Commissioners

June 7, 2011 - The Beltrami County Board of Commissioners is seeking to discover the opinions of county residents through a scientific survey. Within the next few weeks, questionnaires will be sent to a random sample of households in the county asking for feedback on the effectiveness of county services and the performance of county government. Upon completion of the survey, a final report will be prepared and will be made available to the public. The results of this inaugural resident survey will be used by the County Board to guide future budget decisions and to get an overall sense of how residents feel about living in Beltrami County.

The survey will be administered by National Research Center, Inc, an external, independent survey research firm. The questionnaire and survey procedure were designed based on the experience of hundreds of local governments, ranging in size from small to large. Scientific sampling and weighting of the responses in Beltrami County will ensure accurate and reliable results. Households who are randomly selected to participate are strongly encouraged to complete the survey when it is received in the mail. Again, the county hopes to have a high participation rate for the survey to ensure the highest reliability of survey results.
