Jack White

Jack White Sr., 79, of Ponemah, died Tuesday, June 1, 2011, at Neilson Place in Bemidji.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday, June 5, at Ponemah Community Center in Ponemah, with Spiritual Leader Steve Jackson officiating. A wake will begin at 2 p.m., Friday, June 3, at Ponemah Community Center and will continue until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Family Burial Grounds in Ponemah, under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

Pallbearers will be: Vincent White, Albert White Sr., Leroy White Jr., Johnny White, Markus White, and Ricky Golden.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Timothy Golden, Steven Golden, Ryan Mendoza, and Raymond Dunnham.

He was born on June 28, 1931, in Red Lake, MN. He was raised and educated in Red Lake. He pursued many jobs, including carpentry, commercial fishing and hunting, ricing, and road construction. He married Betty Choken in June of 1960, and celebrated their 50th anniversary last year. He enjoyed bingo, attending and singing at pow-wows, garage sales, going for long drives, visiting friends, and family.

He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Jean “Betty” White of Ponemah, Children, Agnes (Eric) White of Minneapolis, MN, Jack (Kathy) White Jr. of Ponemah, Sheryl White of Moorhead, MN, Louis (Ada) White of Ponemah, Johnny White of Fargo, ND, Bonnie White of Ponemah, MN 21 Grandchildren, and 15 Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and 2 grandchildren.
