James Eisenrich

James Bernard Eisenrich, 83, of Pinewood, died Wednesday, June 01, 2011, at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 4, at St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Bemidji, with the Rev. Vincent Miller officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Neilson Place with a 7 p.m. Knights of Columbus Rosary, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Bemidji. Arrangements are with the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji, Minn.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Michael Hiscock, Daniel Eisenrich, James Bofferding, Thomas Dzurik, Aaron Bofferding and Grant McDermott.

He was born Aug. 7, 1927, to Earl and Frances (Sweeney) Eisenrich in Warroad, Minn. He grew up and graduated from Warroad High School. He entered the U.S. Navy during World War II and was honorably discharged in August 1946. He came back to Warroad and went to work at Booth Fisheries. He married Genevieve Schlagel Nov. 27, 1952, in Warroad. In 1957, they moved to Redby where he managed the Red Lake Fisheries until his retirement in 1990. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a dedicated caregiver to his wife after her stroke.

He is survived by his wife Bemidji; children, Connie Eisenrich of Plymouth, Minn., Mark (Wendy) Eisenrich of Tenstrike, Heidi (David) Hiscock of Bemidji, Barbara (Richard) Dzurik of Corcoran, Minn., Frances (David Sandberg) Eisenrich of Rochester, Minn., James (Beth) Eisenrich of Woodbury, Minn. and Amy (Joseph) Bofferding of Bemidji; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Lois) Eisenrich of Grafton, N.D .; sisters, Mary Becker of Fargo, N.D., and Grace Preuss of Waterville, Minn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Janet Eisenrich; and brother, John Eisenrich.
