Minnesota Radio Talking Book Added to Paul Bunyan Television

PBTV becomes first provider in the state to offer the service for blind or visually impaired.

(Bemidji, MN) (May 24, 2011) – Paul Bunyan Communications announced today that it is the first television service provider in the state to offer the Minnesota Radio Talking Book service to its television customers.

Minnesota Radio Talking Book is a closed circuit service for the blind or visually impaired that broadcasts news and information 24 hours a day. Broadcasts include newspapers, magazines, and books at the same time they are available to the general print-reading public. It can be found on channel 988 for Paul Bunyan Television (PBTV) customers.

This programming has only been available with a special radio or online, but now our customers can use the service with a simple click of the remote. Minnesota Radio Talking Book is a service offered by State Service for the Blind through the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. A representative from the State Services for the Blind will be at the Paul Bunyan Communications Cooperative Celebration to answer questions about Minnesota Radio Talking Book and the other services available to the blind and visually impaired. The event is this Wednesday from 4:30-7:30 p.m. in Bemidji.

Paul Bunyan Communications has been offering the latest in communication services to Northern Minnesota since 1952. The services offered include local and long distance voice service, Internet services through Paul Bunyan Net, television service through Paul Bunyan Television, and more. Service availability depends upon location.
