Statewide Arts Leadership Conference

The Forum of Regional Arts Councils of Minnesota (FRACM) recently sponsored the opportunity for arts leaders throughout the state to attend the two-day James P. Shannon Leadership Institute training.

Local arts leaders attending the two-day Leadership Conference were:

Bickey Bender of Blank Canvas Gallery, Park Rapids, MN

Mitch Blessing of Design Angler, Bemidji, MN

Fred Rogers of the Minnesota Folklore Theater, Akeley, MN

Mary-Knox Johnson of the Bemidji Community Theater, Bemidji, MN

Kelly Grossman of the North Country Museum of the Arts, Park Rapids, MN

Terri Widman of the Region 2 Arts Council, Bemidji, MN

The purpose of the Arts Leadership Conference was to provide arts administrators the opportunity to refocus, refresh, and re-energize their leadership. Participants took part in activities designed to enhance awareness of their own gifts and talents while outlining a vision for the impact they wish to make in their communities.

The conference took place at the Country Inn and Suites in Walker, MN.

The Forum of Regional Arts Councils of Minnesota is a statewide 501c3 arts organization. Only Minnesota has such a system of regional arts councils, which can disseminate state and other funding for the creation, performance and appreciation of Minnesota art. Each of the eleven Minnesota Regional Arts Councils has a primary staff person. Together, these representatives comprise the voting membership of the Forum of Regional Arts Councils. The FRACM's mission is to serve as a voice of and advocate for small arts organizations and community-based activities throughout the state.
