Protect Our Manoomin to Rally at Minnesota's Governor's Fishing Opener

Protect Our Manoomin will be hosting a rally at the Minnesota Governor's Fishing Opener on Saturday, May 14, 2011

at Zorbaz on Lake Pokegama, Zorbaz is located 5 miles south of Grand Rapids on Highway 169 at about 6:45 a.m. (Gathering Time.) Governor Dayton is expected to drop his hook at 7:45 a.m.

Protect Our Manoomin is hosting this rally as part of our continued efforts to create awareness of the wild rice sulfate standard. Current legislation that will negatively impact is expected to pass. Therefore, it is imperative that Governor Dayton is made aware of this issue and that we strongly encourage his veto of this legislative bill that will raise or suspend the current sulfate standard,

Protect Our Manoomin will be gifting Governor Dayton with wild rice on behalf of the Anishinaabe people.

We encourage supporters to attend his important event. Because parking will be limited at Zorbaz, the gathering point for the rally will be at Wal-Mart at 6:45 a.m. We will carpool there and transport to the rally.
