Morris Beaulieu, Jr.

Morris “Moe” Isaac (Gii-shi-bah-o-sey which means “He Who Walks in Circles”) Beaulieu, Jr., 16, of Red Lake, died Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Essentia Health in Fargo, N.D. from an automobile accident.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 12, at the Redby Community Center in Redby. A wake will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at the Redby Community Center and will continue until the time of service on Thursday. Burial will be in the Fox Point Cemetery in Redby under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.

Active pallbearers will be Lester Loud, Sr.; Isaac Beaulieu; Eric Gaurdipee; Curtis Johnson; Michael Johnson and Rodney Cobenais. Alternates will be Andrew Powers and Joseph Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Wakonabo; Darrin “DJ” Wakonabo; April Greenleaf; Brianna Rabbit; Clyde Reyes; Paul “Casey” Mason; David Goggleye, Sr.; Toca Nelson; Kevin “Kain” Greene; Dayna Mason; friends and family.

He was born September 14, 1994, to Morris Beaulieu, Sr. and Cathi Thompson in Bemidji. He lived in Bemidji and Red Lake as a child. He attended Bug-o-nay-ge-shig School where he played basketball, football and wrestling. He was enrolled in the By-Law School in Bemidji. He enjoyed singing, outdoor sports, balsam picking, making hand drums and bringing humor to his family. He recently walked for Reverse Diabetes. He was looking forward to the birth of his first child.

He is survived by his mother; his father; his great grandmother, Clara “Unci” Smith; grandmother, Alva “Namma” Eaglefeather; grandfather, Conrad Thompson, Sr.; sisters, Christina (Lester )Thompson, Dezirre Rushman, Endonnis White, Shantae Beaulieu and Davie Beaulieu; brothers, Isaac Beaulieu, Shadow Beaulieu and Isaiah Beaulieu; and stepbrother, David Paquette, Jr; four uncles; six aunts; a nephew; and special friend Danielle Wind.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Carter Thompson; two grandparents; two great-grandparents; and cousins.
