Delmer Staples

Delmer Joseph Staples, 74, of Cass Lake, died Thursday, May 5, 2011, at his home in Cass Lake.

A wake will begin at 5 p.m. Saturday, May 7, and continue until the 1 p.m. service on Monday, May 9, all held at the Veteran’s Memorial Building in Cass Lake.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Wilson, Benjamin White, Gordon Harrison, Mike Harrison, Sheldon Brown, Joel Ortley and Kerry Morgan.

Honorary pallbearers will be all his friends and family.

He was born March 1, 1937, to Joseph and Delia (Williams) Staples.

He is survived by his son, Christopher (Jessica) Staples of Bemidji; daughters, Doreen (Kerry) Staples of Cass Lake, Yvonne (Larry) Staples of Cass Lake, Michelle Rock of Minneapolis; brothers, Gary Wilson of Cass Lake, Clifford Wilson of Cass Lake and Kenny Ashing of Minneapolis; sisters, Veda Harrison of Cass Lake, Lois White of Cass Lake and Cybil Ashing Gundy of St. Paul, Minn .; his former wife Donna and their two daughters Doreen and Yvonne, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas Wilson, Donald and Leroy Staples; and a grandson.
