BAXTER, Minn.- Motorists on Highway 371 between Baxter and Nisswa may encounter lane closures and reduced speeds beginning May 4 as crews begin preparations for an upcoming resurfacing project.
Crews begin resurfacing Highway 371 from just south of Highway 210 in Baxter to north of the city of Nisswa on Monday, May 9. This project also includes constructing shoulders and turn lanes, upgrading traffic signals and closing median crossovers.
Crews are required to conduct night work from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. daily from the railroad tracks to Woida Road in Baxter but the night work may be extended farther north to make contractor operations more efficient. In addition, no construction will occur during the weekends.
The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-August, weather permitting.
For more information on the project and a map of crossovers scheduled to be removed, visit the project website at http://www.dot.state.mn.us/d3/hwy371baxter-nisswa/index.html
