National Junior Honor Society inducts new members

On Thursday, April 28, 2011, the Red Lake Junior Honor Society inducted six new members in a ceremony at the Red Lake High School Culture Room.

The new inductees included Athena Cloud and Rhianna Cloud of the 8th grade; Breanna Goodrider of the 7th grade; and 6th graders Breanna Johnson, Robert McClain and Jayleen Sayers.

The current members are Kennedy Barrett, Devyn Deegan, Bruce Johnson and Brenna Pemberton of the 8th grade; and Roberta Barrett and Reginald Robinson of the 7th grade.

The ceremony included an opening honor song, speakers Principal Malcolm Wax and Superintendent Brent Gish, the introduction of current members, the induction of new members, and recognition of current members, followed by a meal.

The purpose of the National Junior Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in students.
