The Red Lake Indian Health Service and the Red Lake Tribal Comprehensive
Health Service Program is pleased to announce that on June 6, 2011 they will be
officially opening a new clinic at the hospital. The name of the clinic is the “Same
Day Appointment Clinic” (SDAC). The new clinic will be located in what was
formerly the old dental clinic area which is off the main lobby area of the hospital.
There will be seven exam rooms and it will be staffed by two (2) Family Nurse
Practitioner, one (1) RN Nurse Manager, three (3) LPN’s and one (1) receptionist.
There will be expanded Clinic hours over the current Outpatient Clinic as follows:
Monday through Thursday – 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM - First appointment at 7:20
and last appointment at 6:20 PM
Friday – 7AM to 3:30 PM - First Appointment at 7:20 AM and last appointment
at 2:50 PM
Individuals will be able to call directly into the SDAC and get an appointment from
the Appointment Clerk as soon as 6:30 AM. Appointments will be given out only
on the same day and no appointments will be given for the next day or future
dates. Since the appointments are only 20 minutes it will be very important that
patients show up at least 20 minutes before their appointments to register and be
screened by the nurse. Service provided typically includes non-emergency
conditions that require prompt attention, same day illnesses or minor accidents.
The Hospital Emergency Room will continue to serve as the proper place for
emergency care. The intent of the SDAC will be to deliver health care services in
a timely and efficient manner for the patients we serve.
