Housing construction in the Twin Cities area saw a boom year in 2017, with area builders reporting the highest number of permits issued since 2006 and the highest number of units since 2005. Around 30 people from the Quinault Indian Nation spent Christmas morning serving hot food and drinks to more than 100 homeless people camping out along the Chehalis River in Aberdeen.
