On Wednesday, September 16, 2015 Red Lake Chemical Health Programs sponsored their annual "Back to School Fest" at the Red Lake Ball Field area and the Cage. Starting at 5 PM, school bags were handed out to students, there were carnival games and prizes including new bikes, and a hot dog lunch was served. Resort owner Dean Hanson is optimistic that anglers will trek to Lake Mille Lacs this winter after the Department of Natural Resources announced Monday they will be allowed to keep one walleye during the winter season. “I believe they will come,” said Hanson, owner of Agate Bay Resort and co-chair of the Mille Lacs Fisheries Advisory Committee.
