    The Red Lake Hospital is undergoing some changes in May, such as some remodeling and an addition to the Pharmacy, and outside and nearly finished, is a new look to their entry area. Some fencing has been added in the front area, some new safety items, along with some new plants and trees. The parking area has some additional handicapped parking areas as well, and that will be resurfaced soon....

    BEMIDJI – A Red Lake man has pleaded guilty to felony criminal vehicle operation for his role in severely injuring a pedestrian on the side of Highway 89 in 2010. James Robert Brown, 27, of Red Lake, pleaded guilty on Tuesday before Beltrami County District Judge Paul Benshoof. Sentencing has been set for July 2 before Judge Shari Schluchter. Brown is accused of making a U-turn along state Highway 89 at about 11:20 p.m. March 5, 2010, and subsequently striking a female who was on the side of the road.   • Redby woman receives 2-year prison term for hiding boyfriend wanted in shooting

    DULUTH – A 22-year-old Redby woman received a two-year prison term Wednesday for attempting to hide a suspect from federal law enforcement. Jerilee Jane Head previously was convicted for being an accessory after the fact. According to the indictment and the evidence presented at trial, Head assisted her boyfriend, Donald Leigh Clark Jr., in his attempt to elude authorities. Clark was hiding from law enforcement after being charged with the Nov. 3, 2010, killing of one man and the wounding of two others on the Red Lake Indian Reservation....
