Mary was born on September 3, 1965 at Cass Lake, MN the daughter of Donald Dean and Grace Phyllis (Sundby) Spurbeck. Mary enjoyed taking long car rides, checking out the different scenery. They had traveled from Spirit Lake, North Dakota, about a 250 mile journey. After the Healing Ceremony and delivering a ceremonial staff for the Red Lake High School, a feast was held at the Pow Wow Grounds, followed by two traditional weddings and some entertainment by the riders to end the day....
