    On Saturday the Unity Riders continued on their journey to the Red Lake High School for a Memorial Ceremony, and on to the Red Lake Pow Wow Grounds for a Healing Ceremony. They had traveled from Spirit Lake, North Dakota, about a 250 mile journey. After the Healing Ceremony and delivering a ceremonial staff for the Red Lake High School, a feast was held at the Pow Wow Grounds, followed by two traditional weddings and some entertainment by the riders to end the day....

    The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Forestry Division is closing several forest roads at the end of the day Tuesday to protect public safety and to provide unimpeded access for firefighting resources.     Northern Minnesota residents may notice smoke in the sky as it drifts from active Northwestern Minnesota fires. Residents in the Bemidji, Deer River and Grand Rapids areas have reported seeing smoke in the sky.
