A young woman living at the homeless encampment in south Minneapolis died Saturday from complications resulting from an asthma attack, raising fresh alarms over the health and safety of approximately 300 people living at the large and growing site. Alissa Rose Skipintheday, 26, was found barely conscious and not breathing last week near the entrance to the camp at East Franklin Ave. and 16th Ave. S., relatives said. A video surfaced online Tuesday that shows the police chief of Madison Lake, Minn., population 1,017, complaining about non-English speakers at Yellowstone Park this summer, apparently while on vacation. State regulators on Tuesday postponed a meeting on Enbridge's controversial new $2.6 billion oil pipeline project after protests erupted in the hearing room. The Minnesota Public Utilities Commission (PUC) was evaluating whether Enbridge met conditions imposed by the panel in June in regard to the pipeline project, which would replace the company's current Line 3. BEMIDJI -- The People’s Church in Bemidji helps some of the city’s most desperate residents, and staff there are on an extended break after a spate of vandalism. The church’s typical 3-4 week summer hiatus started about a month early, leaders there said, and is scheduled to continue into early October as they fix it back up. GRAND FORKS—Grand Forks Air Force Base is investigating the death of an airman. The body of Airman 1st Class Christian Clark, 24, was found Sept. 6 in his dorm room at the base, according to a news release. A member of the 319 Communications Squadron, Clark was an operations technician for the high-frequency global communications system. State health officials are trying to find out whether anyone was exposed to a pair of rabid bats that were left by an unidentified woman last week at a veterinary facility in St. Paul. The BNSF Railway has advised that railroad track maintenance will require the closure of Irving Access Loop SW at the railroad grade crossing on Thursday, September 13th, 2018 from 7:00AM until 4:00PM.
