    RED LAKE, MN - The Seven Clans Casino held their 3rd Annual Car Show on Saturday beginning at 10 AM, August 29, 2015. Over 50 vehicles were on display, each with a chance to win cash and door prizes and trophies. A free outdoor concert also took place late in the afternoon with Elvis impersonator Travis LeDoyt.     NISSWA, Minn. — Two Chippewa band members face possible gross misdemeanor charges of taking fish by an illegal method after they set a gill net in a central Minnesota lake Friday, part of an effort to get the state of Minnesota to recognize off-reservation gathering rights under an 1855 treaty.   • MN DNR cites tribal members in second day of treaty rights challenge

    The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources cited Ojibwe tribal members Friday on two northern Minnesota lakes on the second day of their efforts to challenge their land use rights under an 1855 treaty. White Earth member Todd Thompson and Fond du Lac Band member James Northrup were cited for setting a gillnet in Gull Lake near Nisswa, Minn. Tribal members also harvested wild rice on nearby Hole-in-the-Day Lake without a required state permit.
