BEMIDJI—A Bemidji man who escaped from custody last week was able to leave Sanford Bemidji Medical Center after a corrections officer allowed him to use the restroom, according to a search warrant filed Monday. Keanu Joseph Major, 25, was taken to Sanford on Thursday night after he was assaulted by another inmate, the warrant said. An Ohio man is accused of stashing the remains of what police believe is his missing former girlfriend in a freezer that he bought with his new, live-in girlfriend, according to a criminal complaint filed in court on Tuesday. BRAINERD, Minn.—A 29-year-old Baxter man was charged on 19 counts of felony possession of pornographic work involving adults engaging in sex acts with children, some of whom authorities believe are as young as 2 years old. A man was found dead early Wednesday in a South St. Paul home, and police say they are looking for multiple suspects seen fleeing from the scene. St. Paul police said a man found hanging from a tree in Indian Mounds Park Tuesday morning died of suicide. The Ramsey County medical examiner’s office determined that Michael Robert Bringle, 50, died of suicide, said police spokesman Steve Linders.
