    BEMIDJI -- The Bemidji area is just on the edge of an excessive heat watch issued by the National Weather Service in Grand Forks, which oversees the Bemidji region. Heat index values near 105 degrees — fueled by high temperatures and humidity — are expected across northeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota. The heat watch does not include Beltrami County, but is just to the south in Hubbard County as well as west to North Dakota.     Minnesota is in for a few days of misery as heavy rains swamp some areas during Wednesday morning’s commute, followed by three days of downright dangerous tropical heat.     BEMIDJI -- A St. Paul man charged with aiding an offender in connection with the murder of Rose Downwind pleaded guilty to the charge Tuesday. Christopher John Davis, 28, told the court that he helped Marchello Cimmarusti, Downwind’s former boyfriend, transport her body to a location west of Bemidji, dig a hole, burn and bury the body, and later send a text message from Downwind’s phone to her mother to make it appear Downwind was alive and in St. Paul.     The brother of a woman suspected of being an accomplice in the beheading of an Iron Range man has been charged with witness tampering. Joeseph Allen Greniger, 20, of Grand Rapids was charged Tuesday in State District Court in Grand Rapids with one count of felony first-degree tampering with a witness.
