BLACKDUCK -- The Red Lake girls basketball team won a humdinger of a game over Blackduck Thursday night, as the Warriors won their opener with the Drakes 91-19. MANDAN, N.D. — Law enforcement officials urged calm over ongoing protests of the Dakota Access oil pipeline Saturday, two days before the Army Corps of Engineers has said it plans to close a protest camp. Deer hunters in northwest Minnesota killed more deer than last year during the recent firearms deer season, despite summerlike weather early on and a storm that dumped more than a foot of snow in eastern parts of the region late in the season.
