    Mesa resident Kailayne Jensen, 11, captured the World Youth Champion title earlier this month at the 29th annual World Championship Hoop Dance Contest at the Heard Museum. Kailayne was one of 27 dancers to compete in the Youth division for ages 6-12, the highest number ever posted. Because of the large number of competitors, for the first time two contestants performed in the ring simultaneously.
