    BRIDGEPORT—The Colville Tribes Natural Resource Enforcement has issued a $5,000 fine and is seeking a mitigation hearing in tribal court concerning the Jan. 2 killing of a Northern Hawk Owl in the Cassimer Bar Area near Bridgeport on the Colville Indian Reservation. “I am pleased that our office was able to conclude its investigation.     Roseville businessman Gregory J. Chmielewski had what seemed like a brilliant idea: Create an alternative low-cost version of workers’ compensation insurance, at a time when the price for traditional coverage was soaring out of sight in California.   • Dulce girls basketball team forced to take down traditional Navajo buns; NMAA says refs were wrong

    A New Mexico girls basketball team was told by referees Tuesday that the way they were wearing their hair was wrong, but those same referees are being told they made the mistake. The girls from Dulce High School wore tsiiyeels - traditional Navajo buns - at their game in Santa Fe Tuesday.
