  • Wabasso Public School closed due to flu outbreak

    WABASSO, Minn. — Wabasso Public School is closing Thursday and Friday due to an outbreak of the flu. Superintendent Wade McKittrick posted a video on the school's Facebook page Wednesday night making the announcement. He said on Monday, there were 53 students and nine staff members sick with the flu.     Three Beltrami County citizens were recently recognized in their efforts to assist the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office in locating two missing persons from the area. In August 2017, MAKENNA Carlson, age 17 of Bemidji, was traveling on TH 371, south of Cass Lake when she observed an elderly female standing on the side of the road.
