On December 31, 2013, New Years Eve, the Annual New Years Eve Gathering was held at the Red Lake Humanities Center. Facing -24 F. weather, about 300 people showed up for the event which began with a feast of Red Lake walleye and perch at 5 PM, followed by the pow wow grand entry at 7 pm, with drawings for door prizes, dance and food contests and some great entertainment throughout the night. The Elder Christmas Party was held at the Red Lake Casino Event Center on Friday, December 20, 2013. Red Lake Elders were treated to a roast beef dinner, live music, candy bags and gift cards. The Red Lake Boys Basketball Team also helped by serving the meals....
