    Someone inside a car fired shots that struck a homeless man Tuesday night in Minneapolis under the Interstate 394 overpass near Dunwoody College of Technology. The man was shot on the 800 block of Linden Avenue W. around shortly after 7 p.m. and taken to HCMC.   • FBI investigating deaths of two Minneapolis men on Red Lake Indian Reservation

    FBI investigators are combing northern Minnesota’s Red Lake Indian Reservation for clues after two men died there. Authorities identified the victims as Dustin Barrett, 26, and James Rojas III, 32, both of Minneapolis. The FBI declined to discuss what led to Sunday’s fatal incident. It’s not known if the men were tribal members. “The investigation continues,” FBI spokesman Michael Kulstad said Tuesday night, declining to say anything else. A sergeant with the Red Lake Department of Public Safety could not be immediately reached for comment....

    A federal appeals court on Thursday overruled U.S. District Judge John Tunheim and ordered a guilty verdict reinstated for a 40-year-old man from the Red Lake Indian Reservation accused of seriously injuring his 10-month-old son in 2013. In a highly unusual move, Tunheim had reversed the jury conviction last June, saying that the prosecution had not offered sufficient evidence to prove James White Jr. guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.     A Red Lake man who was shot multiple times in 2000 during a dispute over a bicycle died as a result of those wounds 15 years later, leading the Hennepin County medical examiner to rule his death a homicide.
