    There was a “buzz” in the air as fans poured into the bleachers at Bemidji Speedway Sunday night.     Monday’s second day of the Fourth of July special at Bemidji Speedway was much like Sunday’s, hot and muggy with a little bit of a breeze. The racing action was some of the best of the summer, however, with multiple lead changes in just about every race which kept the fans on the edge of their seats. The Midwest Modifieds rolled onto the track led by Sunday’s feature winner Skyler Smith.     Bemidji is known for its annual Jaycees Water Carnival which culminates with a fireworks display over Lake Bemidji on the night of the Fourth of July. But the fireworks came early at Bemidji Speedway on Sunday night with spins, crashes and a few tempers as hot weather, hot drivers and hot cars fueled the action.     It was Father’s Day on Sunday at Bemidji Speedway and for two dads in particular it couldn’t have been more special. Bill Smith watched as two of his sons Billy and Skyler won features on Sunday night in the Mini Stock and Midwest Modified classes.     Working as a pit man for legendary Bemidji Speedway racer Junior Jones was all it took for Pure Stock driver Cory Peterson to get the itch to race himself.     Dare officer Kimberly Wood and patrol officer Robert McClain joined all the drivers on the front straight during intermission of DARE “Say No To Drugs” night at Bemidji Speedway Sunday night.
