FAMILY & COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS COORDINATOR

RED LAKE HEAD START PROGRAM

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position works with a considerable degree of independence, provides linkages between families and community agencies to ensure comprehensive, continuous services, and is part of the management team and serves as a liaison advocate for children and families. Reports to Director, full-time position with benefits, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that child/family meets the age, disability and income eligibility criteria.

• Develop and implement an outreach and recruitment process that is designed to actively inform all families within recruitment area of services.

• Establish selection criteria for selecting children and families that considers all eligible applicants.

• Develop and maintain a waiting list that ranks children according to programs selection criteria.

• Identify and ensure that proposed service area does not overlap with other grantees.

• Assist with community assessment once every three years.

• Offer opportunities to develop and implement individualized Family Partnership Agreements that describe family goals within one month of child enrollment in the program.

• Promote collaborative relationships with community agencies to provide quality services to children and families.

• Assist in providing opportunities to include parents in the development of the programs curriculum and approach to child development and education.

• Assist in establishing and maintaining procedures to support successful transitions for enrolled children and families.

• Assist in developing transition plans for children leaving the program, specifically for those children with special needs.

• Establish and maintain efficient and effective record-keeping systems to provide accurate and timely information regarding children and families.

• Assist in conducting a self-assessment of effectiveness and progress in meeting program goals and objectives and implementing Federal regulations.

• Other duties as assigned by the Director.

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

• GED/High School Diploma.

• AA or Family Service Credential preferred.

• Must be CPR/First Aid Certified.

• Knowledge and experience in the use of computers and office equipment.

• Willingness to work occasional evening and/or possible weekend dates for special events.

• Ability to carry out physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

• Negative TB test prior to employment.

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test
