Karen Jean Cloud, 58 years old, "Bagajikwe" which means "Giving Woman" of the Bear Clan and St. Paul, MN began her journey to the spirit world on Thursday, May 31, 2018 from her home. She was born in Red Lake, MN on October 7, 1959, the daughter of Betty (Stillday) and Wallace Cloud, Sr.

Karen grew up in Ponemah and attended school in Red Lake. After school, she received her Certified Nursing Assistant and her TMA certificates. She moved to Red Lake and worked at the Jourdain Perpich Nursing Home from 1994 until 2006. Karen then decided it was time for a change and moved to Minneapolis to be closer to her children. Karen began working for Little Six Casino in 2008 as a housekeeper. In 2015, and until her passing, she was the personal care attendant for her daughter Nadine Cloud. Along with her own children, she raised three of her grandchildren, two granddaughters; LaResha and Destinee and a grandson; Marcus. When Karen wasn't working and raising kids she enjoyed watching western shows and sports. Her favorite teams to watch were the Minnesota Vikings and the Red Lake Warriors. Karen liked playing Keno when visiting the casinos. She enjoyed listening to pow-wow music on You-Tube and dancing to a variety of music. Karen loved to joke around a lot when hanging out with her friends and was a lot of fun to be around. She always looked forward to the holidays and the time she could spend with her family.

Family that welcomes Karen to the spirit world are her parents; Betty and Wallace Cloud, Sr., daughter; Angela Cloud, brother; Wallace "Magoo" Cloud, Jr., grandparents; Roy and Helen Cloud and Warren and Alvina Stillday, nephews; Stephen and David Villiard and step-son; Fabian G. Sayers, Jr.

Those she leaves behind are her life long partner and friend; Fabian Sayers, Sr., children; Fabian, Nadine (John M.), Teresa (Charles H.) Cloud all of Minneapolis, sisters; Sandra Cloud and Orianna Kimbrell both of Ponemah, brother; Floyd (Patti) Cloud of Red Lake, special sister; Victoria "Vickie" Fineday, special brother; Chris (Ginny) Cloud of Ponemah, 17 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many more loved ones.

A wake for Karen will begin at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 5th and continue until her 10:00 a.m., traditional service on Thursday, June 7th all being held at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN. Zac Earley and Ben Bonga will be her Spiritual Advisors. Pallbearers for Karen will be Chris Cloud, Tyrell Atkinson, Shawn Kingbird II, Alexander Villiard, Sr., Charles Hilliard and John McGraw. Alternate pallbearers are Wesley Cloud, Sr. and James Cloud. Her honorary pallbearers are Winona Polar, Celeste "Cookie" Erickson, Mary Strong, Lisa Stately, Laurie May, Sugie Roberts, Vonnie Roberts, Nellie Roberts, Shayna Roberts, Gloria Cloud, Esther Cloud, Victoria Fineday, Betty Kimbrell, Tammy Jo Atkinson, Rose Marie "Bonnie" Cloud, June Atkinson and Stacy Day. Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds at Ponemah, MN following her Thursday service.
