April Vaneeza King, age 37, of Ponemah, MN, was called to her spiritual home on Wednesday, May 30, 2018, in Roseau, MN.

April was born on July 13, 1980, in Minneapolis, MN, the daughter of Faye King and Paul Wenell. She was raised in Minneapolis until she was 6 when the family moved to Ponemah, MN. She went to Blackduck Elementary. She continued her education and eventually obtained her GED. She enjoyed listening to music, playing cards, and going to the casino, especially to play Keno. Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She worked as a housekeeper for 7 Clans Casino in Warroad, MN, for the past 4 years and the Ponemah Market for 8 years previously.

Blessed be the memory of April, she will be dearly missed.

April is survived by her children, Alexis (Ryan) Solis-King of Red Lake, MN; and Dominick and Aurora Spears of Ponemah, MN; significant other, Wendell Spears of Warroad, MN; mother, Faye King of Warroad, MN; father, Paul Wenell, Sr., of Grand Forks, ND; father, Louis Paquette of Cass Lake, MN; sisters, Violet (Aadam) King of Blackduck, MN, and Jamie (Clinton) King of Ponemah, MN; grandmother, Nancy Kingbird of Cass Lake, MN; and special niece, Anhelica (Jon) Zamorano-King of Red Lake, MN; as well as many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family members waiting to greet her include, grandson, Brent Roy Cloud, Jr .; brother, Royal David King; grandmothers, Susan King, Patricia Wenell, and Celeste Fisher; grandfathers, Warren Tibbets, Albert "Bing" King, and Johnson Kingbird; and numerous aunts, uncles, and other extended family.

The wake for April will begin at 5:30 pm, Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN and will continue until the service at 1:00 pm, Monday, June 4, 2018. Her Waa-maajaa'iwed will be Steve Jackson. Burial will be in the family burial grounds at Ponemah, MN. Pall bearers are: Angelo King, Andreas King, Louis King, Casper Murrillo, Daniel King, and Jason King, with alternate pall bearers, Warren King and LaMont King. Honorary pall bearers are all of April's family, past and present.
