Minneapolis police told not to march in Twin Cities Pride parade in uniform

Officers of the Minneapolis Police Department will not be allowed to march in the 2018 Twin Cities Pride parade in uniform.

Citing concerns raised by representatives of the LGBTQ community, Minneapolis Police Chief Medaria Arradondo on Tuesday directed his officers to wear civilian attire if they planned to march in the downtown Minneapolis parade on June 24, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.
